UGA fans, you’ve had a day or two to digest the fact that the University of Georgia’s football team actually fell a spot in the latest BCS poll—even though two teams ranked over them, Missouri and West Virginia, lost in convincing fashion. Still upset about the lose/lose situation your favorite squad’s placed in by facing Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl. (Win and your team gets a “You’re supposed to beat the Rainbow Warriors!” Lose and you get a “Whoa, you got beat by the Rainbow Warriors?!” Sucks, huh?) Well, UGA faithful, some of that flame you have brimming inside can now be directed at seven coaches who mysteriously picked Georgia (10-2, with six wins over bowl-bound squads) No. 7 or lower in the BCS-impacting USA Today poll. Here are the culprits: Mack Brown, Texas (chose UGA No. 7), Bill Callahan, Nebraska (No. 7), Tom O’Brien, North Carolina State (No. 7), Howard Schnellenberger, Florida Atlantic (No. 8), Bob Stoops, Oklahoma (No. 8) and Hal Mumme, New Mexico State (No. 9). Oh, and Wyoming coach Joe Glenn must really hate the SEC because he provided the biggest pothole in the Dawgs’ title march by picking UGA No. 10 in his poll. Unbelievable.
