Let’s see. What could you do with $21 million...
A 4,000 square foot house w/pool, four-car garage, live-in maid and chef $3.5 million
A sporty two-seater for you $100,000
A spacious SUV for the misses $50,000
A week on a private island in the Polynesian Isles $40,000
5000 shares of Yahoo stock $135,150
A new wardrobe for the family $50,000
Start a Planet Smoothie franchise $150,000
I-Phones for you and 19 closest friends $120,000
Four years of college for your first born $130,000
TOTAL $4.3 million
Clearly, with that much dough, you could do an awful lot and still have plenty left over. Yet nowhere on that list does it say anything about curing a rare eye condition like the one baby Tatum, daughter of veteran NBA guard Derek Fisher, is living with.
This past week, Fish asked the Utah Jazz out of his contract (one with three years and $20.6 million left on it) so he could move his child to a city with more suitable medical care. “Life for me,” Derek told reporters earlier in the week, “outweighs the game of basketball.” Though the decision itself isn’t anything more than what all good dad would do for their kids, it’s so refreshing to hear about it coming from someone with so much (potentially) to lose on the financial end. Man, I wish Derek and the Fisher Family well on their heavy-hearted journey towards recovery.

Add another $100,000 to the starting a Planet Smoothie. HAHA There's a couple more things they don't tell ya about.
