Motor City Bowl
Central Michigan vs. Middle Tennessee State
December 26, 7:30PM, Detroit
ESPN
Former standout MAC Conference quarterbacks Bruce Gradkowski, Ben Roethlisberger and Byron Leftwich are having rough seasons in the NFL. Current standout MAC quarterback Dan LeFevour, who’ll likely join the other names shortly, had a really good NCAA season (2,869 passing yards and 25 TDs) for Central Michigan (9-4). Don’t feel too down if you didn’t know that. Few people outside the state knew those stats let alone had any clue this bowl even existed. But we can bet you who did? The good fans down in Murfreesboro, TN, the home of Middle Tennessee State University. Their beloved Blue Raiders (7-5) are playing in their first bowl since joining D1-A back in ’99. Yes, their team’s going to get hammered by the Chippewas 38-14 –MTS lost to Oklahoma and South Carolina by a combined score of 111-7 earlier this year- but man are they going to have a blast while it’s all happening!
Interesting Fact: Talk about versatility. LeFevour not only led the team in passing touchdowns, but he also was its rushing leader with six.
