Let’s Go Bowling!
Football fans, I hate to say it, but this bowl stuff isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The stubborn heads of these college conferences just don’t see what we see, and I for one am getting pretty tired of pleading my case for an eight-team tournament every time the “BCS vs. Playoff” debate arises. Oddly, around the same time that realization came to me the other day, the old “If you can’t beat’em, join’em” adage sprung up, too, and I figured it wouldn’t hurt to enjoy the games at least a little. So, starting on December 8, with the long-anticipated San Diego County Credit Union Bowl (that’s a real name, scout’s honor!) and ending with that kinda important Ohio State/Florida match-up on January 8, I’m going to preview all 32 bowls, one per day, right here. I’ll share a few interesting facts about the contests, highlight important players and make some half-intelligent predictions. No need to thank me if my choices lead to big time cash in an office pool or something. I don’t deserve any credit. Just fault the BCS for forcing me to comply to their senseless structure of things. I most certainly have already…
